Motorway Experience Training
Learning to drive doesn't finish when you have passed your driving test, although it does mean you are well on your way to driving alone. Although not currently covered in driving training as a legal requirement, due to the high number of fatal accidents that occur on dual carriageways and motorways in Ireland, it is important that you can get hands on experience of high speed roads with a COSOM professional driving instructor.
Motorway driving involves so many driving skills and techniques which are not always required for standard carriageway driving, such as constant overtaking, yielding to high speed drivers, changing lanes to avoid merging low speed traffic, methods to remaining attentive on often repetitive roads and warning other drivers of risks ahead on the road.
The Churchtown and Orwell School Of Motoring is one of the few driving schools in Ireland that offers a dedicated course to getting students safe and happily onto motorways in an environment where they know they are in safe hands.
A standard motorway beginners lessons takes two hours, including a full consultation of how to manage situations, traveling to and from the Motorway (ten minutes from Churchtown and/ or Orwell School Of Motoring, and an hour and a half of Motorway driving, and dual carraigeway driving.
The cost of a lesson is only €115 including full instruction by an RSA approved driving instructor.
